Oolong Tea + Isoproterenol
Isoproterenol brand name: Isuprel.
Oolong Tea has a moderate interaction with Isoproterenol. Theoretically, large amounts of oolong tea might increase the cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS
Why this applies to Isoproterenol
Isoproterenol falls under BETA-ADRENERGIC AGONISTS — the group Oolong Tea interacts with.
Oolong tea contains caffeine. Caffeine can increase cardiac inotropic effects of beta-agonists.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Isoproterenol (Isuprel) is a beta-agonist that revs up the heart, making it beat faster and pump harder. Oolong tea brings its own kick because of the caffeine it contains, and caffeine can nudge the heart in the same direction. So the worry here is simple: the two together may add up, pushing the heart a little harder than either one alone. That could show up as a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, or feeling flushed.
I'll be honest with you, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong real-world proof. A normal cup or two is unlikely to cause trouble, but large amounts of strong tea are where it could matter. Since isoproterenol is usually given in a closely watched setting, just mention your tea habits to your doctor or pharmacist.

About Oolong Tea
What is Oolong Tea?
- Weight management
- Mental alertness and energy
- Heart health
- Blood sugar support
- Antioxidant support
Oolong tea is a traditional partially oxidized tea made from the same plant as green and black tea, and it provides caffeine and plant antioxidants. As a beverage it is generally considered safe for most healthy adults in moderate amounts, but evidence for specific health benefits like weight loss or blood sugar control is limited. If you have heart, blood pressure, or caffeine-sensitivity concerns, talk with your pharmacist or doctor.

Isoproterenol Is Linked to Lower Levels of 2 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Isoproterenol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Oolong Tea — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
