Ostarine + Rosiglitazone Maleate
Rosiglitazone Maleate brand name: Avandia.
Rosiglitazone Maleate falls into 2 drug categories that Ostarine can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, concomitant use with hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of adverse hepatotoxic effects.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Ostarine interacts with whole categories of medication. Rosiglitazone Maleate falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Ostarine in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Rosiglitazone Maleate
Rosiglitazone Maleate falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Ostarine interacts with.
Some clinical research shows that ostarine can increase alanine aminotransferase, a marker of liver damage, in some patients. Additionally, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns that supplements containing SARMs, such as ostarine, have been associated with reports of liver toxicity and there are at least two reports of drug-induced liver injury attributed to the use of ostarine.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing these two: this isn't about one changing the other's blood levels. It's that both can be hard on your liver. Rosiglitazone (Avandia) is processed by the liver and, in some people, has been linked to changes in liver enzymes. Ostarine, a SARM, has its own track record of liver injury, and the FDA has flagged real reports of people getting hurt this way.
Put them together and you may stack the strain on one organ. Watch for signs like unusual tiredness, nausea, belly pain on the upper right, dark urine, or yellowing of your skin or eyes. To be honest, this link is theoretical and based on how these act, not hard proof, but Ostarine isn't approved or recommended anyway. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Rosiglitazone Maleate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES.
Although in vitro research suggests that ostarine inhibits CYP2C9, more robust clinical research shows that ostarine does not significantly affect CYP2C9.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the short version: your body clears rosiglitazone (Avandia) using a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. In a test tube, Ostarine looked like it might slow that enzyme down. If that actually happened in real life, rosiglitazone could build up a bit, which in theory might raise the risk of low blood sugar, swelling in your legs, or unwanted weight gain.
But the better-quality human studies suggest Ostarine does not meaningfully affect CYP2C9, so this concern stays mostly theoretical. The bigger issue is Ostarine itself. It's an unapproved SARM tied to liver injury, and it isn't a true supplement. I would not recommend using it, especially alongside a diabetes medicine. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rosiglitazone Maleate page
“Rosiglitazone (Avandia) lowers blood sugar in type 2 diabetes, and most of the 314 supplements and herbs on this page pull on that same lever. Some 239 can move blood glucose on their own, so adding one risks hypoglycemia, the shakiness, sweating, and confusion of sugar falling too low.”

About Ostarine
What is Ostarine?
- Muscle building
- Athletic performance
- Fat loss / body recomposition
- Bodybuilding cycles
Ostarine (also called MK-2866 or enobosarm) is an experimental, unapproved drug known as a SARM (selective androgen receptor modulator), not a true dietary supplement. It is not approved by the FDA, is banned in sports, and has been linked to liver injury and other serious harms, so it is not recommended for general use.
About Rosiglitazone
What Is Rosiglitazone Used For?
Brand name: Avandia
-
Rosiglitazone is used along with a diet and exercise program and sometimes with one or more other medications to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Rosiglitazone is in a class of medications called thiazolidinediones. It works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin, a natural substance that helps control blood sugar levels. Rosiglitazone is not used to treat type 1 diabetes (condition in which the body does not produce insulin and therefore cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood) or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious condition that may occur if high blood sugar is not treated).
-
Over time, people who have diabetes and high blood sugar can develop serious or life-threatening complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, nerve damage, and eye problems. Taking medication(s), making lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, quitting smoking), and regularly checking your blood sugar may help to manage your diabetes and improve your health. This therapy may also decrease your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or other diabetes-related complications such as kidney failure, nerve damage (numb, cold legs or feet; decreased sexual ability in men and women), eye problems, including changes or loss of vision, or gum disease. Your doctor and other healthcare providers will talk to you about the best way to manage your diabetes.
