Puravive and Insulin Degludec, Liraglutide

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Minor

Antidiabetes Drugs

Why this applies to Insulin Degludec, Liraglutide

Insulin Degludec, Liraglutide falls under Antidiabetes Drugs — the group Puravive interacts with.

Puravive contains Panax ginseng. Clinical studies indicate that Panax ginseng may lower blood sugar levels. One study (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25015735/) found that supplementation with Panax ginseng led to a significant decrease in post-meal glucose levels and an increase in post-meal insulin levels compared to a placebo. If you are taking medications that lower blood sugar, it's important to monitor your blood glucose levels closely when using Panax ginseng.
Severity Minor Likelihood Possible Evidence B

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to keep an eye on with Xultophy. This pen combines two blood-sugar-lowering medicines: insulin degludec (a long-acting insulin) and liraglutide (a GLP-1 drug). Puravive contains Panax ginseng, and some studies suggest ginseng can nudge blood sugar down a little on its own. Stack that on top of an insulin combo and the two effects can add up, so your sugar could drop lower than expected.

This is rated a minor interaction and it's not likely to be dramatic, but low blood sugar with insulin is worth respecting. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling foggy. If you'd like to try Puravive, check your glucose more often at first and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

About Puravive

What is Puravive?

Puravive
  • Weight management
  • Metabolism support
  • Energy levels
  • General wellness
  • Stress and brain health

Puravive is a branded, multi-ingredient capsule marketed mainly for weight loss by claiming to boost brown fat activity, but there is no published, independent clinical research showing the product itself works for this purpose. Some individual ingredients have been studied in laboratory or small human studies, but those results do not prove the finished blend is safe or effective. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.
