Lovastatin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, adrafanil might reduce levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to weakly induce CYP3A4 activity.

Here's the gist for these two. Your body turns adrafinil into modafinil, and modafinil can gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. That same enzyme is responsible for clearing lovastatin out of your system. So in theory, taking adrafinil could push your body to break down lovastatin a little faster, leaving lower levels in your blood.

What that might mean in real life is that lovastatin doesn't lower your cholesterol quite as well as it should. It's worth knowing this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not something proven in studies, and modafinil's effect here is fairly weak. Still, since adrafinil is unregulated and tough on the liver, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

It is sometimes sold as a nootropic supplement, but it is unregulated, carries real risks (especially to the liver), and is banned in some sports and countries. About Lovastatin

What Is Lovastatin Used For?

Brand names: Mevacor, Altocor

Lovastatin is used to lower high LDL ("bad") cholesterol and total cholesterol in people whose levels have not improved enough with diet alone. It is also used to slow the buildup of plaque in the arteries (coronary atherosclerosis) in people who already have coronary heart disease.

In adults without existing heart disease but with high cholesterol and low HDL ("good") cholesterol, lovastatin tablets are approved to reduce the risk of heart attack, unstable angina, and the need for procedures to open blocked arteries. Lovastatin tablets are also approved for adolescents aged 10–17 with a specific inherited condition called heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (heFH), when diet changes alone haven't been enough.
