Dulaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Ceylon leadwort root extract has been shown to both increase and decrease blood glucose levels in animal research. This effect has not yet been demonstrated in humans. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might reduce or potentiate the effects of antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the short version: Trulicity (dulaglutide) already lowers your blood sugar, and Ceylon Leadwort might nudge it in either direction. In animal studies, this plant has both raised and lowered blood glucose, so the effect is unpredictable. We don't have human studies confirming this happens, so think of it as a theoretical concern rather than a proven problem.

If the plant pushes your sugar lower on top of dulaglutide, you could see signs of low blood sugar, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling confused. If it pushes the other way, your sugar control could slip. The practical move is simply to check your blood sugar more often and loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them. Please don't change your dulaglutide dose on your own.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
