Insulin Degludec falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Ceylon leadwort root extract has been shown to both increase and decrease blood glucose levels in animal research. This effect has not yet been demonstrated in humans. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might reduce or potentiate the effects of antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the honest picture: in animal studies, Ceylon Leadwort root extract has pushed blood sugar in both directions, sometimes lowering it and sometimes raising it. We don't yet have human research showing this happens with Tresiba, so this is a theoretical concern, not a proven one.

Tresiba is a long-acting insulin that works steadily to keep your blood sugar down. If this supplement adds to that effect, you could drop too low (hypoglycemia), with shakiness, sweating, confusion, or even fainting. If it pushes sugar the other way, your numbers could run higher than usual. Because the direction isn't predictable, the safest move is to check your blood sugar more closely and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts. What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brands: Insulin Degludec, Tresiba) is indicated to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in patients 1 year of age and older with diabetes mellitus — both type 1 and type 2.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication where acids build up in the blood). In patients with type 1 diabetes, it must be used together with a short-acting insulin.
