Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Ceylon leadwort root extract has been shown to both increase and decrease blood glucose levels in animal research. This effect has not yet been demonstrated in humans. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might reduce or potentiate the effects of antidiabetes drugs. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Medication dose adjustments may be necessary. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (Diabeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the honest picture with Ceylon Leadwort and your insulin lispro (Admelog). In animal studies, this plant's root extract has gone both ways, sometimes pushing blood sugar down and sometimes up. That same effect hasn't been proven in people, so think of this as a theoretical concern based on lab work, not a sure thing.

What matters for you is that insulin lispro is already a powerful, fast-acting blood-sugar-lowering medicine. If the herb nudges your sugar lower on top of your insulin, you could see hypoglycemia, things like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion. If it pushes sugar up, your insulin might not control it as well. If you do use this supplement, check your blood sugar closely and let your pharmacist or doctor know, since your insulin dose may need adjusting.

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts. What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
