Why this applies to Nitrendipine

Nitrendipine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Danshen interacts with.

Danshen might alter the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Preliminary clinical research in healthy males shows that the administration of danshen for 10-14 days induces intestinal CYP3A4 and increases the clearance of midazolam, a CYP3A4 substrate. The maximum concentration of midazolam was decreased by 31% to 67%, and drug levels were decreased by 27% to 80%. However, a single dose of danshen has the opposite effect, increasing maximum concentrations of midazolam by 87%.

Here's the gist for nitrendipine, a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood pressure. Your liver and gut break it down using an enzyme called CYP3A4, and Danshen can tug on that enzyme in two different directions. Taken steadily for a week or two, Danshen seems to speed up CYP3A4 in the gut, which would clear nitrendipine faster and could leave it working a little weaker, so your blood pressure might not be as well controlled. Oddly, a single dose of Danshen does the opposite and can raise drug levels, which could mean more dizziness, flushing, headache, or swollen ankles.

This is based on limited human research and isn't a strong, definite effect. Still, since it can swing either way, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and keep an eye on your blood pressure.
