Prevpac is a combo pack used to clear an H. pylori stomach infection. It contains lansoprazole, which is handled in part by a liver enzyme called CYP2C19. Lab and animal studies hint that devil's claw might slow down that enzyme, which could let lansoprazole levels drift a bit higher. In plain terms, you might get a touch more acid-lowering effect or mild side effects like headache or loose stools. None of the three ingredients here is a prodrug, so there's no worry about losing the treatment's punch.

Honestly, this is theoretical only and hasn't been seen in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since this is a short, important antibiotic course, run it by your pharmacist or doctor before adding devil's claw.

Prevpac is a combo pack used to knock out H. pylori stomach infections. Of the three pieces, clarithromycin is the one that leans on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to be cleared from your body. The thinking here is that devil's claw might slow that enzyme down a little, which could let clarithromycin build up more than usual. If that happened, you might notice more stomach upset, an off or metallic taste, or in rare cases heart rhythm changes.

Here's the honest part: this concern only comes from lab dish studies, not from real people, so it's theoretical and likely small. Still, since you'd only take Prevpac for a couple of weeks, it's easy enough to hold off on devil's claw during treatment. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Your Prevpac combo includes lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by lowering the amount of acid your stomach makes. The concern here is mild and mostly on paper: devil's claw has been reported to increase stomach acid. If that happens, it could push back a little against what lansoprazole is trying to do, possibly meaning slightly less heartburn relief or a bit more burning while your ulcer or H. pylori treatment is underway.

To be honest, this is based on weak, anecdotal evidence, so it's not something I'd lose sleep over. The amoxicillin and clarithromycin parts aren't really involved. Still, since you're on a full treatment course, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding devil's claw.
