Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Lovastatin
Lovastatin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with lovastatin and devil's claw. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break lovastatin down. Lab and test-tube studies hint that devil's claw might slow that enzyme a bit. If it did, lovastatin could clear out more slowly and build up in your blood, which can raise the odds of statin side effects like muscle aches, weakness, or (rarely) more serious muscle problems and liver irritation.
The important part: this is theoretical. It has only shown up in lab studies, never in real people, so it may not amount to much in practice. Still, since muscle issues with statins are worth watching, I'd mention to your pharmacist or doctor that you're considering devil's claw before starting it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lovastatin page
“Lovastatin (Mevacor) lowers cholesterol, and the liver clears it through an enzyme called CYP3A4, which is where most of these 184 supplements collide with it. This list deserves careful attention.”

About Lovastatin
What Is Lovastatin Used For?
Brand names: Mevacor, Altocor
Lovastatin tablets are used along with a low saturated fat, low cholesterol diet when diet and other non-drug measures alone haven't done enough. The goal is to lower total and LDL cholesterol and reduce the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease (cholesterol-related artery disease).
Lovastatin tablets are used to reduce the risk of heart attack, unstable angina and coronary revascularization procedures in people without symptomatic heart disease. They also slow the progression of coronary atherosclerosis in people with coronary heart disease. They treat primary hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) and are used in adolescents aged 10 to 17 with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia who meet certain criteria.

Lovastatin Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Lovastatin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Devil's Claw — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
