Here's the simple version: the codeine part of this combo is a pain reliever that also makes many people drowsy. Some animal studies hint that jackfruit seeds may have a mild calming or sedating effect of their own. Put the two together and, in theory, you could feel a little extra sleepy, foggy, or slow to react.

I want to be clear that this is weak, theoretical evidence from lab and animal work, not from people. Eating jackfruit as a normal food is very unlikely to cause a problem. The concern, if any, would be with concentrated jackfruit seed supplements. If you're using one of those, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor and watch for unusual drowsiness, especially before driving.

Theoretically, jackfruit latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Jackfruit latex, which is the sap from jackfruit bark, contains chemicals that might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that jackfruit latex contains a glycoprotein constituent that prolongs the activated partial thrombin time (aPTT) and reduces the activity of blood coagulation factors XIa and alpha-XIIa. Jackfruit latex also contains a protease constituent that has been shown to have fibrinolytic activity in vitro. Other parts of jackfruit, including the fruit and leaves, have not been shown to contain chemicals with fibrinolytic and anticoagulant activity.

Here's the key thing to know: this concern is really about the aspirin part of your combo medicine. Aspirin is a blood thinner that keeps platelets from sticking together. The worry is with jackfruit latex (the sticky sap from the bark and tree), not the fruit you eat. Lab studies suggest that latex contains compounds that may slow clotting, so in theory pairing it with aspirin could nudge up your bleeding risk, meaning easier bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding.

But let me reassure you: this is only test-tube evidence, and the everyday jackfruit you'd eat as a food has not shown this effect. Enjoying jackfruit fruit is generally fine. If you're considering a concentrated jackfruit or latex product, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
