Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the situation with this Coricidin-style combo (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, and dextromethorphan). Lab studies hint that lentinan may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. If a drug is cleared faster, your body may have a bit less of it around. For the cough suppressant and the antihistamine pieces, that could in theory mean slightly weaker effects, like less relief from coughing or a stuffy, runny nose.

Honestly though, this is only seen in test tubes and animals, not in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. CYP1A2 isn't even the main pathway for these particular ingredients. The bigger everyday concern with this product is the acetaminophen and not doubling up on it. If you'd like to use lentinan, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine (Tofranil) and amitriptyline (Elavil); antipsychotics such as haloperidol (Haldol), risperidone (Risperdal), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine); beta-blockers such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), and carvedilol (Coreg); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); and others.

In this combo cold medicine, the ingredient that matters here is dextromethorphan, the cough suppressant. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break it down. Lab research hints that lentinan might speed that enzyme up a bit, which in theory could clear dextromethorphan a little faster and make it slightly less effective at quieting a cough.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. This is only a test-tube and animal finding, and it has never been seen in real people. The acetaminophen and chlorpheniramine pieces aren't really affected. If you take lentinan regularly and notice your cough medicine just isn't doing much, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can take a look.

Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

This Coricidin product is a combo of three medicines: acetaminophen (the pain and fever reducer), chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), and dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant). The piece that touches this interaction is mostly dextromethorphan, since the CYP3A4 enzyme helps process it. Lab and animal studies hint that lentinan might slightly speed up CYP3A4, which in theory could clear these drugs a bit faster and make them less effective, so your cough or symptoms might not be as well controlled.
