Why this applies to Mometasone

Mometasone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the short version: lab studies hint that lentinan may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the pathways that helps clear mometasone. If that happened, your body could break mometasone down a little faster, which in theory might make it work less well. For something like Elocon cream you might notice your psoriasis or eczema patch staying red, itchy, or scaly instead of calming down. For Asmanex, less control of asthma symptoms.

Honestly though, this is only seen in test-tube and animal research, never reported in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Topical and inhaled mometasone also act mostly right where you apply them. Still, mention any supplement to your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

Mometasone Furoate topical products are used to relieve the inflammation and itching (pruritus) that come with corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses — a broad category of skin conditions that respond to steroid treatment.

Mometasone Furoate Topical Solution (Lotion) is specifically indicated for these skin conditions in patients 12 years of age and older. Mometasone Furoate cream may be used in adults and in children 2 years of age and older.
