Oestrogen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the gist for estrogen. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help break estrogen down. Lab and animal research hints that lentinan may rev up that enzyme a bit. If it does, your body could clear estrogen a little faster, which in theory might soften its effect. For someone on estrogen for menopause symptoms, that could look like hot flashes, night sweats, or vaginal dryness creeping back. For birth control, weaker estrogen levels are the bigger concern.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is only test-tube and animal data, and it has never been confirmed in real people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, mention the lentinan to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the gist of it: your body clears estrogen partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab research hints that lentinan might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could break down estrogen a little faster, which might lower its levels and make it work less well. For estrogen, that could mean things like hot flashes, night sweats, or other menopause symptoms creeping back, or it being less reliable if it's part of birth control.
