Moringa + Dicloxacillin Sodium
Dicloxacillin Sodium brand names: Dynapen, Pathocil, Dycill, Pathocil Injection.
We found no known interaction between Moringa and Dicloxacillin Sodium in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the label for Dicloxacillin Sodium states a food rule worth keeping to, and the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Moringa and Dicloxacillin Sodium
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Dicloxacillin Sodium and Moringa in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
Moringa safety at a glance
Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Dicloxacillin Sodium
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Dicloxacillin Sodium is filed under 5 classifications — including penicillin, antibiotic drugs, nephrotoxic drugs. Moringa has documented interactions with 6 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates (moderate), levothyroxine (synthroid, others) (moderate) and p-glycoprotein substrates (moderate) — and none of Dicloxacillin Sodium’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Moringa Does Interact With Other Medications
Moringa has 717 moderate, 152 minor known drug interactions in our database — Dicloxacillin Sodium isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

Moringa in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
When the leaf is used orally during the second or third trimesters, short-term. Moringa leaf powder or extract 500 mg daily for up to 4 months has been used with apparent safety during the second and third trimesters. There is insufficient reliable information available about the safety of using moringa leaf by mouth during the first trimester.
When the root, bark, or flower are used orally. Traditionally, moringa root bark and gum from moringa trunk bark have been used to induce abortion. When taken orally along with black peppercorns to induce abortion, moringa root bark may cause fatality. Animal research shows that moringa flower can cause uterine contractions; however, this has not been assessed in humans. There is insufficient reliable information about the safety of using moringa seed during pregnancy; avoid using.
When moringa leaf is used orally, short-term. Moringa leaf powder or extract 2 grams daily has been used during lactation with apparent safety for up to 4 months. There is insufficient reliable information available about the safety of using other parts of moringa during lactation; avoid using.

Some Dicloxacillin Sodium Products Have a Food Rule — Moringa Should Not Break It
At least one FDA label for a product containing Dicloxacillin Sodium says to take it on an empty stomach. Most supplements — Moringa included — are taken with a meal, so the easy mistake is swallowing both together at breakfast. Where that rule applies, keep Dicloxacillin Sodium on its own and move Moringa to a meal later in the day.
This may not be true of your version. Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Dicloxacillin Sodium products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. The label we read is quoted below — check the directions on your own box or bottle, or ask your pharmacist, for how to take the exact product you were given.
Patients weighing less than 40 kg (88 lbs) DRUG ADULTS CHILDREN Mild to Moderate Severe Mild to Moderate Severe Dicloxacillin 125 mg every 6 hours 250 mg every 6 hours 12.5 mg/kg/day 1 in equally divided doses every 6 hours 25 mg/kg/day 1 in equally divided doses every 6 hours Dicloxacillin is best absorbed when taken on an empty stomach, and should be administered at least 1 hour before or 2 hour
From the Dosage and Administration section of the FDA label we read for Dicloxacillin Sodium — where that label names a specific product, the instruction is that product's. Read the label on DailyMed ›
A food rule is not an interaction — it is about how much of the medicine you absorb. The directions that came with your own product, and your pharmacist, outrank anything on this page.
Questions About Moringa or Dicloxacillin Sodium
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Moringa or Dicloxacillin Sodium, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Dicloxacillin Sodium
This page covers Moringa only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Dicloxacillin Sodium page lists 56 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Asarabacca (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Aristolochia (moderate) and Bacillus Coagulans (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 42 moderate · 11 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dicloxacillin Sodium page
“The riskiest pairing on this page is Siberian cocklebur with dicloxacillin (Dynapen), an antibiotic for staph skin and soft tissue infections. Both can stress the kidneys, and that additive strain accounts for one of the three major ratings among 56 supplements here, enough that this list warrants real care.”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
Moringa oleifera · Moringaceae · Leaves, seeds, seed pods, seed oil, bark, and roots · Capsules, powder, tea, dried leaf, seed oil
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Moringa is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Moringa record says about it on its own.
Moringa: dosing
There is no well-established standard dose for moringa. Studies have used different forms and amounts, so it is hard to recommend a single dose.If you choose to use a moringa supplement, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Dicloxacillin
What Is Dicloxacillin Used For?
Brand names: Dynapen, Pathocil, Dycill, Pathocil Injection
Dicloxacillin Sodium capsules are used to treat infections caused by staphylococci (staph bacteria) that produce an enzyme called penicillinase, which makes them resistant to ordinary penicillin. It works specifically against these resistant staph strains.
It should not be used for infections caused by bacteria that are still susceptible to regular penicillin G, or for infections caused by organisms other than resistant staphylococci. Lab cultures are used to confirm the right bug is being targeted.
Most-Reported Side Effects for Dicloxacillin Sodium
From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (195 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
