Here's the simple version: your Serevent inhaler (salmeterol) is a long-acting medicine that opens your airways, but it can also nudge your heart to beat a little faster or harder. Oolong tea brings caffeine to the table, and caffeine can push in the same direction. Stacked together, the worry is a bit more heart-related stimulation, things like a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, or feeling shaky.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these two work, not something proven to cause problems for most people. A cup or two of oolong is unlikely to matter. Large amounts, like several strong cups or caffeine pills, are where I'd pay attention. If you notice palpitations or feel wired, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

About Salmeterol Oral Inhalation

What Is Salmeterol Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Serevent

Serevent Diskus (salmeterol inhalation powder) is used for three main purposes: treating asthma in patients aged 4 and older alongside an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), preventing exercise-induced bronchospasm (EIB) in patients aged 4 and older, and providing long-term maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with COPD — including chronic bronchitis and emphysema — in adults.

Important: Serevent Diskus is not a rescue inhaler. It will not relieve a sudden asthma or COPD attack. For asthma, it must always be used together with an inhaled corticosteroid — using it alone for asthma is contraindicated due to a serious risk of asthma-related death.
