Buproprion, Dextromethorphan falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Red Clover interacts with.

Theoretically, red clover might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4; however, a small clinical study found no effect.
In vitro evidence shows that red clover might inhibit CYP3A4 isoenzymes. However, a clinical study in healthy postmenopausal individuals shows that taking red clover capsules standardized to contain 60 mg isoflavones twice daily for 14 days does not affect the pharmacokinetics of alprazolam, a CYP3A4 probe substrate.

Here's the situation with Auvelity (the bupropion plus dextromethorphan combo) and red clover. In a test tube, red clover's isoflavones looked like they might slow down CYP3A4, one of the liver enzymes that helps clear certain medicines. If that happened, dextromethorphan levels could in theory creep up, which might mean more dizziness, drowsiness, or that spacey, foggy feeling. But here's the reassuring part: when researchers actually tested red clover in people, it did not change how the body handled a CYP3A4 test drug.

So this is mostly a theoretical, lab-based concern, rated minor and unlikely. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since Auvelity affects mood and the brain, it's still worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor before adding red clover.
