Here's the simple version: dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) is already a powerful stimulant. It speeds up your nervous system, which can bump up your heart rate and blood pressure. 1,3-DMBA appears to do much the same thing. So if you stack the two, you're essentially pushing the gas pedal twice at once.

That overlap could mean a racing or pounding heart, a noticeable rise in blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or anxiety. In a worst-case situation, that extra strain on the heart and vessels is what raises the concern for serious cardiovascular events. I'll be honest: this warning rests mostly on animal data, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, given 1,3-DMBA isn't a safe or legal ingredient anyway, I'd steer clear and talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist.

Here's the bigger picture first: I'd steer clear of any product containing 1,3-DMBA altogether. It's a synthetic stimulant the FDA treats as an illegal supplement ingredient, and it's been tied to serious heart and stroke risks. Pairing it with dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine), which is itself a powerful stimulant, doubles down on that strain. You could see a racing heart, spikes in blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and anxiety.

On top of that, lab studies suggest 1,3-DMBA may weakly block CYP2D6, one enzyme that helps clear dextroamphetamine. In theory that could nudge its levels up a little. This is only test-tube evidence and rated minor, so the bigger concern is simply stacking two stimulants. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
