Clomipramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group 1,3-dmba interacts with.

Theoretically, 1,3-DMBA might modestly increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that 1,3-DMBA weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes.

Here's the short version: lab studies suggest 1,3-DMBA may weakly slow down CYP2D6, one of the liver enzymes that helps clear clomipramine from your body. Clomipramine is the active drug itself (not a prodrug), so if it gets cleared a little slower, levels could nudge upward. In theory that might mean more of its usual side effects, like dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, or a faster heartbeat.

That said, this is rated a minor, theoretical concern based only on test-tube data, so it's not a major alarm. My bigger worry is honestly the 1,3-DMBA itself, since it's an unapproved stimulant that can raise heart rate and blood pressure. I'd avoid it and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

To qualify for treatment, the obsessions or compulsions must cause significant distress, take up a lot of time, or noticeably interfere with work, school, or social life.
