These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
1,3-dmba interacts with whole categories of medication. Lisdexamfetamine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with 1,3-dmba in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
STIMULANT DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Lisdexamfetamine
Lisdexamfetamine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group 1,3-dmba interacts with.
Animal research shows that 1,3-DMBA has stimulant effects, such as increasing blood pressure and heart rate.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know: Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is itself a powerful central nervous system stimulant. It already nudges up your heart rate and blood pressure as part of how it works. The concern with 1,3-DMBA is that it appears to act as a stimulant too, so stacking the two could pile one set of stimulant effects on top of another.
Putting them together could mean a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or chest discomfort. I'll be honest, this particular warning is theoretical and comes mostly from animal studies, so we don't have solid human data. Even so, 1,3-DMBA isn't a proven or legal supplement ingredient, and I'd steer clear of it entirely. Please run any product like this past your pharmacist or doctor first.

CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Lisdexamfetamine also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that 1,3-DMBA weakly inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the bigger picture first: 1,3-DMBA is a risky, unapproved stimulant the FDA treats as an illegal ingredient, and Vyvanse is itself a powerful stimulant. Stacking two stimulants is the real concern here. You could see a higher heart rate, climbing blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and anxiety, with a greater strain on your heart.
The lab-based note on file is separate and small: in test-tube studies, 1,3-DMBA weakly blocks an enzyme (CYP2D6) that helps clear Vyvanse's active form. In theory that could let levels run a touch higher, but this is only theoretical and likely minor. The stimulant-on-stimulant risk matters far more. Please don't combine these without checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
