Yohimbine, a constituent of Rauvolfia vomitoria, has sympathomimetic effects and increases blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. Theoretically, taking Rauvolfia vomitoria with stimulant drugs can have additive stimulant and hypertensive effects.

Here's the concern with pairing Rauvolfia vomitoria and your Dexedrine. Dextroamphetamine is already a strong stimulant that pushes your body to release more norepinephrine and dopamine. The Rauvolfia plant contains yohimbine-related compounds that can act as stimulants too, nudging blood pressure and heart rate upward. Stacking the two could be additive, meaning a bigger jolt to your cardiovascular system than either alone.

In plain terms, you might notice a racing heart, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or anxiety. To be fair, this is a theoretical caution based on how these substances work, not hard clinical proof. Still, with a stimulant, I'd play it safe. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them, and don't change your Dexedrine on your own.

Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the basic idea with this pairing. Your body partly relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear dextroamphetamine. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a small amount of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow that enzyme down. If that happens, your dextroamphetamine could build up a bit higher than usual, which may mean stronger stimulant effects like a racing heart, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or higher blood pressure.

I'll be honest though: this is based on test-tube research, not real patients, so it's more theoretical than proven. On top of that, rauvolfia itself strongly affects blood pressure and mood, so combining it with a stimulant is something to clear with your doctor or pharmacist first.
