Cyclobenzaprine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauvolfia Vomitoria interacts with.

Theoretically, Rauvolfia vomitoria might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
Rauvolfia vomitoria contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the short version: your body relies partly on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down and clear cyclobenzaprine. Rauvolfia vomitoria contains a bit of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow that enzyme down. If that happens, cyclobenzaprine could clear more slowly and build up a little, which may make its usual effects feel stronger.

For cyclobenzaprine, that mostly means more drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, and grogginess, which can add up if you're also driving or taking other sedating things. I want to be honest though: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not human studies, so it may not amount to much. Still, since rauvolfia is a potent herb, please run this combo past your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
