Scopolamine falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, concurrent use might decrease the effectiveness of both agents.
Bacopa seems to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels, which could counteract the effects of anticholinergic drugs. Similarly, anticholinergic drugs might counteract the cholinergic effects of bacopa.

Here's the tug-of-war to be aware of. Scopolamine works by blocking acetylcholine, that brain messenger involved in nausea and motion sickness. Bacopa appears to do the opposite in lab studies, gently nudging acetylcholine levels up. So in theory, the two could partly cancel each other out, meaning your Transderm Scop patch or tablet might not quell nausea, vomiting, or motion sickness as well as expected.

I want to keep this in perspective. This concern is theoretical, based on how each acts in the body rather than real patient reports, so don't panic if you've taken both. Still, if you rely on scopolamine for surgery or travel, mention the bacopa to your pharmacist or doctor first so they can guide you.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Some small studies suggest it may modestly help memory when taken regularly for several weeks, but the evidence is limited and quality varies. What Is Scopolamine Transdermal Patch Used For?

Brand names: Scopace, Scopolamine Injection, Transderm Scop

Scopolamine Transdermal System (also sold as Transderm Scōp) is approved for adults to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness. You apply it before travel to help stop queasiness before it starts.

It is also used to prevent post-operative nausea and vomiting (PONV) — the nausea and vomiting that can follow surgery, anesthesia, or opioid pain medicines. Transderm Scōp is applied the evening before surgery (for surgeries other than cesarean section) and removed 24 hours after the procedure.
