Dolasetron falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, use of chanca piedra might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that chanca piedra extract inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, chanca piedra might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version on pairing chanca piedra with dolasetron (Anzemet). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear dolasetron from your body. In lab dish studies, chanca piedra appears to slow that enzyme down. If that held true in people, dolasetron could linger a bit longer and its effects could build up.

For dolasetron, that might mean more of its usual side effects, like headache, dizziness, or changes in your heart's rhythm. I want to be honest though: this is purely theoretical and based only on test-tube research, never reported in actual patients. So it's a possible concern, not a proven one. Since dolasetron is often given during chemo, please loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before adding chanca piedra.
