Bendroflumethiazide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with diuretics might increase diuresis.
Some preliminary clinical research in adults with hypertension shows that chanca piedra has diuretic properties. However, higher quality research in adults with kidney stones shows taking chanca piedra does not increase urine volume when compared with placebo. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking diuretic drugs.

Here's the thing about pairing chanca piedra with bendroflumethiazide: this herb may have mild water-pill (diuretic) properties of its own. Bendroflumethiazide already works by making you pass more urine to lower blood pressure and reduce fluid. So in theory, stacking the two could add up and push you toward losing too much fluid. That might show up as feeling lightheaded or dizzy (especially when standing), increased thirst, or muscle cramps from shifts in potassium and sodium.

I want to be honest though, this is a theoretical concern. The evidence is weak, and one decent study actually showed no extra urine output. Culinary or occasional use likely won't matter much. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and don't change your medication on your own.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Bendroflumethiazide is a thiazide water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body get rid of extra salt and fluid. Chanca piedra has shown some blood pressure lowering in animal studies, so the concern here is purely about the two of them nudging your pressure down together. In theory, that could mean a bit more dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint, especially when standing up quickly.

The good news is this interaction is rated minor and unlikely, and the evidence is theoretical. In fact, one short study in people with high blood pressure didn't see a real drop. Most folks won't notice anything. Still, if you decide to use both, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep an eye on how you feel.
