Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Here's the gist with azilsartan (Edarbi): chanca piedra may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. So in theory, pairing it with azilsartan could nudge your pressure down a little more than the medication alone. If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly.

I want to be honest about how weak this concern is. It's based mostly on animal studies, and in a small human trial, people with high blood pressure didn't actually see lower readings after about 10 days. So this is more of a theoretical caution than a real red flag. If you do try chanca piedra, it's reasonable to check your blood pressure at home and let your pharmacist or doctor know before starting.

What Is Azilsartan Used For?

Brand name: Edarbi

Azilsartan medoxomil tablets — sold as both the generic Azilsartan Medoxomil and the brand Edarbi — are approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. Bringing blood pressure down lowers the risk of serious cardiovascular events, especially stroke and heart attack.

The medication can be used on its own or alongside other blood pressure medicines. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, and managing the condition fully often involves lifestyle steps like limiting sodium, exercising, and quitting smoking.
