Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Here's the simple version: benazepril (Lotensin) already lowers your blood pressure, and chanca piedra might nudge it down a little further. If both pull in the same direction, you could in theory end up a bit too low, with things like dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, or feeling unusually tired.

That said, I'd keep this in perspective. The blood-pressure-lowering idea comes mostly from animal studies, and in a small group of people with high blood pressure who took chanca piedra for 10 days, no real drop showed up. So this is a theoretical, minor concern, not something proven. If you'd like to try it, just check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your readings at home so nothing sneaks up on you.
