Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can have hypoglycemic effects. However, a small clinical study in adults with diabetes shows that chanca piedra extract 25 grams orally daily for 1 week does not lower fasting or postprandial blood glucose levels.

Here's the short version: this is a very mild, mostly theoretical concern. The idea is that chanca piedra might have a small blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. If that turned out to be true, stacking it on top of your insulin lispro could in theory push your sugar a little lower, raising the chance of a low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion).

But the actual evidence is thin. One small human study found that chanca piedra did not lower fasting or after-meal glucose at all. So for most people I wouldn't expect any real change. If you do start it, just keep an eye on your readings for the first week or two and let your pharmacist or doctor know, especially if you notice more frequent lows. Don't adjust your insulin on your own.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
