Nadolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chanca piedra with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can decrease blood pressure. However, this effect was not observed in most hypertensive patients treated with chanca piedra for 10 days.

Here's the gist: nadolol already lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate, and chanca piedra might nudge your blood pressure down a little more on top of that. So in theory, combining the two could add up to a bigger drop than you expect. If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or notice your pulse running slow.

The honest part: this is a theoretical concern, mostly from animal studies. In one small human study, people taking chanca piedra for 10 days didn't actually see their blood pressure fall, so a real problem is unlikely. Still, if you start it, keep an eye on how you feel and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.

What Is Nadolol Used For?

Brand names: Corgard, Nadolol

Nadolol tablets are used for two main conditions: high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (ongoing chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

For high blood pressure, nadolol may be prescribed on its own or combined with other blood pressure medications, especially thiazide-type diuretics (water pills). For angina, it is used for long-term management to help reduce how often chest pain occurs.
