Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing about NexoBrid (anacaulase-bcdb): it's an enzyme gel applied directly to severe burn wounds to gently remove dead, damaged tissue. It isn't a blood thinner you swallow, but because it's grouped with drugs that can affect clotting and bleeding, the concern is that anything nudging your blood toward easier bleeding could matter at the wound site.

The cola nut worry is purely theoretical. Its caffeine has shown some mild antiplatelet (clot-slowing) activity in lab tests only, never in real people, so the actual risk is low. Still, since NexoBrid is used on raw, bleeding-prone burns, it's worth mentioning the cola nut to your wound care team or pharmacist so they can keep an eye on any extra oozing or slow clotting.
