STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Carbinoxamine, Pseudoephedrine
Carbinoxamine, Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Cola Nut interacts with.
Cola nut contains caffeine. Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of caffeine, concomitant use with stimulant drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the simple version. Your combo product contains pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that's already a stimulant. Cola nut brings its own caffeine to the party. Stack those two stimulants together and you can get more of the jittery side effects, like a racing or pounding heart, feeling wired or anxious, trouble sleeping, and a small bump in blood pressure. The carbinoxamine half is an antihistamine, so it won't add to the stimulant effect, but the pseudoephedrine is the part that matters here.
This is more of a common-sense, expert-opinion caution than a proven danger, and neither one needs activating in your body. A cup of coffee adds the same kind of effect. Still, if you have high blood pressure or heart trouble, check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Carbinoxamine, Pseudoephedrine page
“Ephedra is the supplement I would rule out first for anyone taking carbinoxamine with pseudoephedrine (Rondec, Carbiset). It carries its own ephedrine-like stimulants, and stacking those on a decongestant that already raises heart rate and blood pressure invites real cardiovascular trouble.”

Cola nut is a caffeine-containing seed from West Africa used mainly as a natural stimulant for energy and alertness.
