Hordenine is structurally similar to N-methyltyramine and synephrine, constituents in bitter orange known to have stimulant properties. Theoretically, taking hordenine with drugs with stimulant properties might increase the risk of hypertension and other adverse cardiovascular effects.
Some of these drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, methylphenidate, pseudoephedrine, and many others.

Here's the simple version: Dexedrine is already a strong stimulant. It works by pushing your body to release more norepinephrine and dopamine, which is what gives you that boost in focus and energy. Hordenine looks chemically a lot like other stimulant compounds and may nudge norepinephrine in the same direction, so stacking the two could pile stimulant on top of stimulant.

What that might feel like is a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired and anxious. I want to be honest with you though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds look and behave in the lab, not on solid human studies. Still, because both lean on the same system, it's worth running past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have any heart or blood pressure issues.

Dextroamphetamine Sulphate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES.

Hordenine weakly inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzymes in vitro. Theoretically, hordenine might increase the levels of CYP2D6 substrates.
Some of drugs that are CYP2D6 substrates include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the gist: your body partly clears dextroamphetamine using a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Hordenine has been shown in lab dish studies to weakly slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let a bit more of your dextroamphetamine hang around, which might nudge up the usual stimulant effects (faster heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired).

That said, this is based only on test-tube data and the blocking is described as weak, so for most people it's unlikely to cause a noticeable problem. The bigger concern is that both are stimulants, so stacking them could add to that racing, anxious feeling on its own. Before combining them, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
