Hordenine is structurally similar to N-methyltyramine and synephrine, constituents in bitter orange known to have stimulant properties. Theoretically, taking hordenine with drugs with stimulant properties might increase the risk of hypertension and other adverse cardiovascular effects.
Some of these drugs include amphetamine, caffeine, methylphenidate, pseudoephedrine, and many others.

Here's the simple version: your Daytrana patch is already a stimulant that nudges up the brain chemicals tied to alertness and the body's fight-or-flight system. Hordenine works in a similar direction, mildly pushing norepinephrine. Stack the two and you could, in theory, add stimulant on top of stimulant, which might raise your blood pressure or heart rate, leave you feeling jittery or anxious, or make it hard to wind down and sleep.

The good news is that this concern comes from how these compounds look on paper, not from solid human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Still, since hordenine itself isn't well studied and your heart is involved, I'd run it by your pharmacist or prescriber before combining them.

Methylphenidate Transdermal System — available as Daytrana and Methylphenidate Transdermal System — is approved to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in pediatric patients ages 6 to 17 years.

It is not recommended for children under 6, because younger patients had higher drug exposure in the body and a higher rate of side effects such as weight loss compared to older children at the same dose.
