Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Valbenazine Tosylate
Valbenazine Tosylate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Hordenine interacts with.
Some of drugs that are CYP2D6 substrates include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Ingrezza (valbenazine) and hordenine. Your body partly relies on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to break down valbenazine's active form. In lab dish studies, hordenine appears to weakly block that enzyme. In theory, slowing that breakdown could let a bit more drug build up, which might nudge up side effects like sleepiness, fatigue, dizziness, or trouble with balance. Some people may also notice an effect on heart rhythm (QT prolongation).
I want to be honest with you though: this is based only on test-tube data, the inhibition looks mild, and it's rated a minor interaction. It's far from proven in real people. Hordenine itself isn't well studied for safety, so I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

“The list for valbenazine (Ingrezza), the medicine for tardive dyskinesia, warrants genuine care, since 14 of its 216 supplement and herbal interactions are rated major. Most of those majors either pile extra sedation onto a drug that can already make people drowsy, alcohol being the everyday example, or shift how much valbenazine reach…”

Hordenine is a natural alkaloid found in barley and some cacti that is marketed as a stimulant for energy, focus, and fat loss, but solid human evidence for these benefits is lacking.
