Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the gist with Beyaz (drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol, plus the folate). In test-tube studies, lentinan looked like it could rev up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps the body break down ethinyl estradiol. In theory, faster breakdown could lower estrogen levels a bit. The catch is that this has only been seen in lab and animal work, never confirmed in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Still, because this is birth control, even small drops in hormone levels matter. If you ever notice breakthrough bleeding or spotting, that can be a clue. Don't change anything on your own. Just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and they can help you decide whether a backup method makes sense.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Beyaz is a birth control pill, and the estrogen part (ethinyl estradiol) is broken down partly by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies hint that lentinan might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could clear the hormones a little faster, which in theory could lower their blood levels and make the pill slightly less reliable. The worry there would be breakthrough bleeding, spotting, or, in the worst case, reduced contraceptive protection.

Here is the reassuring part: this is based only on test-tube and animal research, and it has not been seen in people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since pregnancy prevention matters, mention any lentinan product to your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
