Ramelteon falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the gist for Ramelteon (Rozerem): your body relies on an enzyme called CYP1A2 to break it down. Lab tests hint that lentinan might rev up that enzyme. If it does, your body could clear ramelteon a bit faster, which might leave less of it working when you're trying to fall asleep. In plain terms, the worry is a weaker sleep effect, not a stronger one.

I'll be honest, this is only seen in test-tube and animal studies, and it has never actually been reported in people. So it's more of a theoretical heads-up than a real alarm. If you take ramelteon and notice it's not helping you drift off like it used to after starting lentinan, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the gist for Rozerem (ramelteon): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this sleep medicine from your body. Lab studies hint that lentinan might speed up that enzyme. If that happened in real life, your body could break ramelteon down faster, leaving less of it around to do its job. In plain terms, you might notice it working less well, so falling asleep could take longer again.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is: it comes only from test-tube and animal research, and it has never actually been reported in people.
