Here's the gist for your combo pill (captopril plus hydrochlorothiazide). Puravive contains quercetin, which in one study nudged blood pressure down a little in people with mild high blood pressure. Since your medication is already working hard to lower your blood pressure, stacking the two together could, in theory, push your numbers a bit lower than expected.

This is rated minor and the evidence is on the weaker side, so it's not something to panic about. Still, watch for signs your pressure has dropped too far, like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, fatigue, or feeling faint. What Is Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Capozide, Acezide

Captopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). The two ingredients work together to lower blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.

This combination may be started as initial therapy or substituted when a patient has already been adjusted on both ingredients separately. It is approved for patients with normal kidney function, and is used more cautiously in those with impaired kidney function.
