Chlordiazepoxide, Clidinium Bromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Red Clover interacts with.

Theoretically, red clover might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2; however, a small clinical study found no effect.
In vitro evidence shows that red clover inhibits CYP1A2. However, a clinical study in healthy postmenopausal individuals shows that taking red clover capsules standardized to contain 60 mg isoflavones twice daily for 14 days does not affect the pharmacokinetics of caffeine, a CYP1A2 probe substrate.

Here's the gist with Librax (chlordiazepoxide plus clidinium) and red clover. In a test tube, red clover's plant compounds can block an enzyme called CYP1A2, which helps clear some medicines. The theory is that slowing this enzyme could let a drug build up a little. For Librax, more chlordiazepoxide hanging around might mean extra drowsiness, dizziness, or grogginess, since it's a benzodiazepine.

But here's the reassuring part: this is only lab data, and an actual human study found no meaningful change. So in real life this interaction is unlikely to cause problems. If you take Librax and want to try red clover, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, especially given the sedating effects.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
