Naproxen falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Tiratricol interacts with.

Theoretically, tiratricol might increase the hypoprothrombinemic effects of oral anticoagulants.
Tiratricol is related to thyroid hormones such as levothyroxine. The hypoprothrombinemic effects of oral anticoagulants, including warfarin (Coumadin), are increased by levothyroxine due to increased catabolism of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors. It is not known if tiratricol has a similar effect.

Here's the gist for naproxen. The concern on file is that tiratricol, which acts like thyroid hormone, might boost the blood-thinning power of true anticoagulants such as warfarin by speeding up the breakdown of clotting factors that depend on vitamin K. Naproxen isn't a classic anticoagulant, but it does affect bleeding in its own way: it's an NSAID that can irritate the stomach lining and reduce platelet stickiness.

So the worry here is a stacked bleeding risk, not naproxen building up in your body. Together they could mean easier bruising, stomach upset, or, less often, bleeding. This is theoretical and based on how the drugs work, not on solid studies. Still, tiratricol isn't a safe supplement, so please run any plan past your pharmacist or doctor first.

It can cause serious heart and thyroid problems, and the U.S. FDA has warned consumers not to use products containing it. It is not a safe or approved dietary supplement, and you should avoid it.

About Naproxen

What Is Naproxen Used For?

Brand names: Naprosyn, Naprelan, Anaprox, Anaprox DS, Naproxyn, Navalbine, Naproxen, Naprosyn EC, Napro-Na, Aleve, Arthroxen, Synflex, EC-Naprosyn

Naproxen tablets, naproxen sodium tablets, and naproxen oral suspension are used to relieve the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. They are also used for tendonitis, bursitis, and acute gout, and for managing pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

Naproxen Sodium Controlled-Release Tablets are indicated for the same conditions plus the relief of mild to moderate pain. Several over-the-counter naproxen sodium products are indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains from headache, backache, muscular aches, toothache, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, and the common cold, and to temporarily reduce fever.
