Here's the honest situation: the interaction on file pairs tiratricol (TRIAC) with thyroid hormones, but Ospemifene (Osphena) isn't a thyroid hormone at all. It's an estrogen-like medication used to ease vaginal dryness and painful intercourse after menopause. So the additive thyroid effect described in the database doesn't really translate to Osphena the way it would for something like levothyroxine.

The bigger point is about tiratricol itself. It's a banned, unapproved substance that the FDA has warned against because it can dangerously speed up your heart and metabolism. That risk exists no matter what else you take. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product containing tiratricol, and don't change your Osphena on your own.

What Is Ospemifene Used For?

Brand name: Osphena

Osphena (ospemifene) is used to treat two specific symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy — the thinning and drying of vaginal tissues that can happen after menopause. The first is moderate to severe dyspareunia (painful intercourse), and the second is moderate to severe vaginal dryness.

Both of these uses are for postmenopausal women only. Osphena is not used in children or in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant.
