Diclofenac Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Tiratricol interacts with.

Theoretically, tiratricol might increase the hypoprothrombinemic effects of oral anticoagulants.
Tiratricol is related to thyroid hormones such as levothyroxine. The hypoprothrombinemic effects of oral anticoagulants, including warfarin (Coumadin), are increased by levothyroxine due to increased catabolism of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors. It is not known if tiratricol has a similar effect.

Here's the honest picture with diclofenac (Voltaren) and tiratricol. The interaction we have on file was really written about blood thinners like warfarin, where thyroid-type compounds can speed up the breakdown of clotting factors and raise bleeding risk. Diclofenac isn't a blood thinner, but it's an NSAID, and NSAIDs already irritate the stomach lining and make platelets a little less sticky, which can nudge bleeding risk up on its own.

So combining the two could theoretically add to bleeding or bruising tendency, though this is based on pharmacology reasoning, not solid studies. Honestly, the bigger concern is tiratricol itself, since the FDA warns against it for serious heart and thyroid effects. Please don't start it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Diclofenac sodium topical gel is used to treat actinic keratoses (AK) — rough, scaly skin patches that form after years of sun exposure. These patches are considered precancerous, meaning they can develop into skin cancer if left untreated.

This is a topical gel, meaning it is applied directly to the skin over the affected area rather than taken by mouth. It belongs to the NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) family.
