Here's the thing about Combivent: the albuterol part is a beta-agonist, meaning it stimulates your heart and lungs to open up your airways. Yerba mate brings its own stimulant to the party, the caffeine, and on paper those two pushing in the same direction could add up. The worry is mostly on the heart side: a faster heartbeat, palpitations, jitteriness, or feeling shaky or anxious.

I want to be honest with you though, this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not something we see causing big problems in everyday life. A cup or two of mate alongside your inhaler is unlikely to be an issue for most folks. Where I'd pay closer attention is large amounts of mate, or if you already notice your heart racing on your inhaler. If that sounds like you, have a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
