Here's the thing about remimazolam (Byfavo): it isn't a pill you take at home. It's a fast-acting sedative given through an IV by a medical team for procedures like a colonoscopy. So the practical overlap with your morning mate is pretty small, but the idea is worth understanding. Caffeine is a stimulant, and remimazolam is a calming, sleep-inducing medicine, so they push in opposite directions. In theory, lots of caffeine could blunt how relaxed and sedated the drug makes you feel.

Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs work, not something proven in studies. Your care team controls and adjusts the dose during the procedure. Still, if you have a sedation procedure planned, just mention your regular yerba mate or caffeine use, and follow any pre-procedure instructions they give you.
