Here's the thing to know about pairing Andrographis with Iloprost (Ventavis). Iloprost already works by widening and relaxing your blood vessels to lower the pressure in your lungs. Andrographis, at least in animal studies, seems to lower blood pressure too. So in theory, using both could stack those effects and push your blood pressure lower than you'd want.

If that happened, you might feel more dizzy or lightheaded, especially when standing up, and possibly faint, headache-y, or flushed. I want to be honest though: this is based only on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Before adding this herb, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the thing worth knowing about pairing andrographis with iloprost (Ventavis). Iloprost doesn't just open up the blood vessels in your lungs, it also makes platelets a little less sticky, so it has a mild blood-thinning side to it on its own. Andrographis may do something similar. In lab and animal studies, it appears to slow platelets down too. Stack those two together and, in theory, you could bruise or bleed more easily, get nosebleeds, or notice cuts taking longer to stop.

I'll be honest with you, this is theoretical and based only on lab and animal work, not real patient cases, so it's not a reason to panic. Still, before adding this herb, run it by your doctor or pharmacist first.

Aurlumyn (iloprost injection, given intravenously) is approved to treat severe frostbite in adults, specifically to reduce the risk of losing fingers or toes (digit amputations). Its effectiveness was established in young, healthy adults who experienced frostbite at high altitudes.
