Liraglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that chanca piedra can have hypoglycemic effects. However, a small clinical study in adults with diabetes shows that chanca piedra extract 25 grams orally daily for 1 week does not lower fasting or postprandial blood glucose levels.

Here's the short version on pairing chanca piedra with liraglutide (Victoza). The theoretical worry is that chanca piedra could nudge your blood sugar a little lower on its own. Since liraglutide already works to bring blood sugar down, stacking the two might add up and raise the chance of a low (hypoglycemia), with symptoms like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling confused.

That said, the evidence here is thin. The blood-sugar-lowering effect mainly showed up in animal studies, and one small human study found that a week of chanca piedra extract did not lower fasting or after-meal glucose. So this is rated minor and unlikely. Liraglutide isn't a prodrug, so this is about an additive effect, not a metabolism issue. Still, if you decide to try it, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your sugars.

About Liraglutide Injection

What Is Liraglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Victoza

Saxenda is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management. It is approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher if they also have at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol or fat levels). It is also approved for adolescents aged 12 and older who weigh more than 60 kg and meet certain BMI thresholds for obesity.

Saxenda should not be used together with other liraglutide-containing products or any other GLP-1 receptor agonist. Its safety and effectiveness in combination with other prescription or over-the-counter weight-loss products have not been established.
