Triclabendazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Chanca Piedra interacts with.

Theoretically, chanca piedra might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that chanca piedra extract increases CYP1A2 activity. Theoretically, chanca piedra might increase metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates and lower serum concentrations. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Egaten (triclabendazole). Your body partly clears this medicine using a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dish studies, chanca piedra seems to speed up that enzyme. If that happened in a real person, your body could break triclabendazole down faster and leave less of it in your blood. Since you usually take it as just a short one or two dose course to kill liver flukes, weaker levels could mean the treatment doesn't fully clear the infection.

I want to be honest about how soft this is: it comes only from test-tube research and has never actually been seen in people. So don't panic. Still, while you're being treated for fascioliasis, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding chanca piedra.
