Toripalimab-tpzi falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Ephedra interacts with.

Here's the concern with pairing these two. Loqtorzi (toripalimab) is an immunotherapy drug given by IV for certain cancers, and one of its known risks is inflammation of the liver, called immune-related hepatitis. Ephedra supplements have their own track record of causing liver injury. So the worry is simply additive stress on the liver when both are on board at the same time.

To be clear, this is a theoretical caution based on how each behaves, not a proven reaction between them. There's no enzyme flip or activation issue here, just two things that can each be hard on your liver. Since ephedra is banned in U.S. supplements and can also spike your heart rate and blood pressure, please skip it and check with your oncology team about anything you're taking.

What Is Toripalimab-Tpzi Used For?

Brand name: Loqtorzi

Loqtorzi (toripalimab-tpzi) is approved for adults with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a cancer that starts in the nasopharynx — the area behind the nose and above the back of the throat.

Loqtorzi is used in two ways: combined with cisplatin and gemcitabine as an initial (first-line) treatment for metastatic or recurrent locally advanced NPC; or as a single agent for recurrent unresectable or metastatic NPC that has progressed on or after a platinum-based chemotherapy regimen.
