Lentinan + Amlodipine Benzoate
Amlodipine Benzoate brand name: Katerzia.
Lentinan has a moderate interaction with Amlodipine Benzoate. Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4).

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Amlodipine Benzoate
Amlodipine Benzoate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for amlodipine (Katerzia). Your body clears this blood pressure medicine using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab research hints that lentinan, a shiitake mushroom extract, might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your body could break down amlodipine a little faster, which could weaken its effect. In plain terms, your blood pressure or chest pain might not stay as well controlled.
The important part: this is only a test-tube and animal finding, and it has not been seen in actual patients. So I wouldn't panic. Amlodipine isn't a prodrug, so the direction here is toward slightly less effect, not more. If you want to try lentinan, just keep an eye on your blood pressure readings and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Lentinan
What is Lentinan?
- Immune support
- Used alongside cancer treatment
- Anti-inflammatory
- General wellness/tonic
- Antimicrobial support
Lentinan is a beta-glucan polysaccharide from shiitake mushrooms that is studied mainly as an immune-modulating add-on to cancer chemotherapy, where it is given by injection in a few countries. Evidence for oral supplements is limited, and quality varies widely between products. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a health condition or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
About Amlodipine
What Is Amlodipine Used For?
Brand name: Katerzia
Amlodipine lowers high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. It can be used alone or with other blood pressure or angina medicines.
It is also used for chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina), and angiographically documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or an ejection fraction below 40%. The Sdamlo oral solution label lists the high blood pressure use for adults and children 6 years and older, and the coronary artery disease uses for adults.
