These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Lentinan interacts with whole categories of medication. Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Lentinan in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Aripiprazole Lauroxil
Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine (Tofranil) and amitriptyline (Elavil); antipsychotics such as haloperidol (Haldol), risperidone (Risperdal), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine); beta-blockers such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), and carvedilol (Coreg); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil), the long-acting injection you get for schizophrenia. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear aripiprazole. Lab studies hint that lentinan might speed up that enzyme, which could lower the amount of medication in your system over time. In plain terms, a faster clearance might mean your antipsychotic doesn't work as strongly, and symptoms you've kept under control could start creeping back.
I want to be honest, though: this is only seen in test-tube and animal research, never reported in real patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since missing coverage on this drug matters, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding lentinan. Don't change your injection schedule on your own.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Aripiprazole Lauroxil also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help process aripiprazole (the medication inside Aristada). Lab studies hint that lentinan might speed that enzyme up. If that happened in real life, your system could clear the drug a bit faster, which in theory might mean a weaker effect and a higher chance of your symptoms (like disturbed thinking or mood changes) creeping back.
The important part: this is only a test-tube and animal finding, and it has never been reported in actual people. With a long-acting injection like this, dosing is carefully timed, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, before adding lentinan, just give your pharmacist or prescriber a quick heads-up so they can keep an eye on how you're doing.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aripiprazole Lauroxil page
“Aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) is a long-acting antipsychotic injection, and because each dose keeps working for weeks, a bad supplement pairing cannot be undone by skipping a pill. So the 16 major-rated entries among its 233 interactions on file deserve to be understood first.”
