Moringa + Lansoprazole
Lansoprazole brand name: Prevacid.
Moringa has a moderate interaction with Lansoprazole. Theoretically, moringa might increase or decrease levels of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Lansoprazole
Lansoprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with moringa and lansoprazole (Prevacid). Your body partly clears lansoprazole using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and moringa might nudge that enzyme one way or the other. The tricky part is that the research disagrees with itself. Some lab studies suggest moringa slows that enzyme down (which could let lansoprazole build up a bit), while other lab work suggests it speeds it up (which could weaken the effect and let heartburn creep back).
Honestly, this concern comes only from test-tube and animal studies, and a human study with a similar drug showed no real change. So for most people taking everyday food amounts, this isn't something to lose sleep over. Still, if you take concentrated moringa supplements daily, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Lansoprazole page
“Heartburn and reflux send plenty of people toward both lansoprazole (Prevacid) and the supplement aisle, and that pairing calls for genuine care, since three of the 153 ingredients on file here carry major-rated interactions. Most of the list works through the liver enzymes that clear lansoprazole, either slowing them down (grapefruit,…”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
About Lansoprazole
What Is Lansoprazole Used For?
Brand name: Prevacid
Lansoprazole is prescribed for a range of conditions where excess stomach acid is the problem. It treats active stomach and duodenal ulcers (sores in the stomach or upper small intestine), helps heal ulcers caused by NSAID pain relievers, and can reduce the risk of those ulcers coming back.
It's also used for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis (acid damage to the esophagus), and rare conditions where the stomach makes far too much acid — like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. When combined with antibiotics, it helps wipe out H. pylori bacteria that cause recurring ulcers.

Natural Medicines records Lansoprazole as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Moringa — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
